What is the Fairbain Builders New Home Journey?

Planning Stage:

The planning stage of building a new home is a crucial phase where key decisions are made about design, layout, materials, and budgeting. Fairbairn Builders, with their extensive knowledge and years of experience in the construction industry, offer invaluable expertise during this stage.

1. Initial Onsite Consultation: During the initial onsite consultation, Jamie, the Director of Fairbairn Builders, will meet you at your proposed new home site to discuss your vision. This personalised meeting ensures that your ideas are clearly understood, setting the foundation for a successful and tailored home-building experience. Jamie has a wealth of building experience and will be able to offer guidance on the building steps.

2. Design: If you have not yet found an architect we can help assist you with this process. We have many relationships with some of Tauranga’s best architects. If you have engaged an architect, we can work with you at whatever stage of the planning phase you are in.

3. Planning: We understand the complexities of architecturally designed homes and along with the architect, can help guide you through the process. By leveraging Fairbairn Builders' insights, clients can anticipate potential challenges, optimise resource allocation, and streamline the construction process, leading to a smoother, more efficient project from inception to completion.

4. Materials Selections: We are able to offer advice on different materials, based on our experience, and discuss the pros and cons and the potential costs involved with fitting different materials.

Pre-Construction Stage:

The pre-construction stage of a new home is a pivotal phase that lays the groundwork for a successful project.

1. Scope of Works: Now the plans are completed we can discuss budgets and timelines. We can then supply a project proposal with a scope of works. Effective communication and meticulous planning during the pre-construction stage is very important to ensure that potential challenges are anticipated and addressed, setting the stage for a smooth and efficient construction process.

2. Budget: We can discuss your budget and provide a cost estimate if required.

3. Contract: Once all of the details are finialised a Master Builders Contract can be completed. We will also offer you a Master Build Guarantee at this stage and request a deposit.
